Hello. My name is Ashley Covey. I never in my life imagined creating something like this for the honor of someone I have cherished throughout my life. On Saturday, October 5, I learned of the passing of one of my greatest friends, Josiah Hemmen. His mother Laura, and sister Hannah made there way to Ashville, North Carolina where they received the news.

Those that knew him, or even just crossed paths with him were truly blessed to have just had a glimpse of a moment with him and the light that came with him. He only created happiness and positivity for those he loved and cared for, and even for people that he didn’t even know. He made everyone feel so included and comfortable. He was happiness and light.

I have created this GoFundMe to help with the expenses to have Josiah cremated and brought back to his family where he belongs, especially his wonderful mother. She deserves to have her boy back with her. His body is currently in North Carolina and they are here in Southern Illinois, so he will have to be shipped to her. Anything extra will go to his mother and sisters to take care of any expenses they may need, whether it be for bills, groceries, household items, what ever it may be that they will need after this. Because nobody expects them to go back to work immediately after such a devastating loss and now having to navigate life so differently, because it will never be the same as before.
