Bring Jeff Wright's Son to His Side

I'm raising funds for our community member, Jeff Wright AKA Miyagi. I don't know Jeff and haven't met him yet, but I've seen his posts on our local Lakeland Village/Allyn Facebook page. Jeff has been battling lung cancer and everything else that comes with that.

Jeff posted on the community page that hospice starts on Monday. He would love to see his son while he's still feeling well enough to see him. Please know, Jeff has NOT asked for this help. When I saw the comments on his post announcing that hospice was starting, many people wanted to help by donating money.

I am starting this fundraiser with his okay. I'm hopeful that we can raise enough funds to have his son fly up from California, maybe rent a car or whatever else he needs so that he can have a quality visit with his dad.

"I started working up there on July 3rd, 2004. Most of ya'll never knew my real name. If you played the links between July 3rd, 2004 and Feb. 25th 2021, you knew me by my nickname, Miyagi. I was the one smoking the pipe, who had a pocket full of dog biscuits for any dog who was allowed one. I read your water meters by myself for almost 10 years. I should have died in 2021. Feb. of 2021, I had two heart attacks. March, quadruple bypass and I found out I was stage 3 lung cancer. April, I started 12 weeks of chemo. July was surgery, they removed 27 lymph nodes from between my lungs. They left 3 in, said they couldn't remove them. August, they removed the tumor and a third of my right lung. September started another 12 weeks of chemo. I stopped chemo after the first infusion, because it left me with permanent side affects that I wouldn't wish on anyone. They told me I had a 30 percent chance of making it 5 years. That was 3 years ago. So on what would of been 20 years come the 3rd of July. I'll come out and hang out around the pro shop to say hi one last time or goodbye, depending."
