Bring Jeff Home: A Safe Start in Utah

Hello all, I am here to humbly ask for your help in rescuing a very good friend of mine from a very bad circumstance. This is Jeff Lowden. Jeff and I met in, and have been close friends since, our freshman college year of 2008. That is 16 years of invaluable friendship that he and I have shared. During those 16 years, Jeff has gone through an incredible amount of struggle and done an awe-inspiring job of continuing to pick himself up, dust himself off, and rise to meet each and every challenge that was presented to him. I have watched him grow from hapless college kid, to essentially homeless, and up to fully self-sustaining without asking for much (if any) help at all. This time, Jeff needs help.
Jeff was forced to move out of Utah to Oregon earlier this year after losing his job to the generally bad economic circumstances this country finds itself in, and because he has no blood family to rely on at all, this move drained him of all his savings and resources. The housing arrangement he had wound up being an abusive and one-sided affair, and after his money had been drained, he was unjustly evicted. He is now currently homeless and living on the streets of Madras, Oregon. He is sustaining himself by finding petty work and staying at the local homeless shelter, which is overpopulated and quite dangerous. His situation is not a tenable one, and I am asking for help getting him the funds he needs to move back here to Utah, where he has a network of friends and former co-workers who can help him get back on his feet. Jeff has already worked out a housing situation for himself that will become open the first week of November, and he just needs funds to move himself back to town and put the standard down payment on the apartment to secure it for himself.
Neither he nor I are very good at asking for help, but we are asking for it now. Anything will help and is immensely appreciated. Jeff is one of the kindest, most considerate, hard-working, hopeful, and loving human beings I have ever had the pleasure of getting to befriend in this lifetime, and he deserves a solid shot at stability. He is also an aspiring painter, and he wishes to send everyone who donates an original painting to express his gratitude. Like I mentioned before, hardworking. Please help me bring my friend safely home.
