My name is Jennifer, and this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to write.

My 16-year-old daughter, Janet, has been in the hospital for over three months, fighting liver failure caused by severe malnutrition. Her body couldn’t absorb the nutrition it needed, and now her liver is shutting down. She has been hooked up to machines just to stay alive.

Before all of this, Janet was the kind of girl every parent dreams of.

When her biological father passed away when she was young, it broke her heart… but God blessed her with a stepfather who stepped in and loved her as his own. Their bond is unbreakable. She still calls him “Dad.”

This sweet, gentle, loving girl does not deserve what is happening to her.

The Day Everything Changed

When her liver started failing, we rushed her to a public hospital.

After tests and time in ICU, they looked at us and said words no mother should ever hear:

“There’s nothing more we can do. We’ll just keep her comfortable until she dies.”

No.

I refused.

My daughter will NOT be allowed to die because the system gave up on her.

I moved her to a private hospital that actually wants to save her.

And that decision saved her life.

She Fell Into a Coma… but She’s a Fighter

Soon after arriving, she slipped into a coma.

For days, I sat by her bed, holding her hand, praying, refusing to leave.

The machines beeped all night. I talked to her like she could hear me. I told her to fight.

And slowly… she woke up.

She is awake now and slowly gaining strength, but her liver is still failing, and her body still cannot function on its own.

There IS a treatment — but it’s expensive

The private hospital started a special nutrition and liver support treatment that is helping her body fight back.

✅ She has already had 3 treatments

✅ She needs 3 more to have a real chance at recovery

That’s $3,540 just for these lifesaving treatments.

That doesn’t even include medicines, nutrition therapy, hospital costs, and transportation.

Why I’m Begging for Help

I have not left her side in 3 months.

I can’t work.

I am now 2 months behind on rent and drowning in bills.

Every dollar I have goes toward keeping Janet alive.

I never wanted to ask for help.

But I will swallow my pride and fight with everything I have to save my daughter.
