Bring Ivy Back To The Parade: A Second Chance for MCR

Donation protected
My daughter Ivy just turned 13. She’s had a hard year, and her birthday didn’t go how we hoped. Her friends bailed, and she felt pretty forgotten. But she had one thing to look forward to: seeing My Chemical Romance in Seattle. Their music means everything to her. It's helped her feel less alone.

I picked her up early from school the day tickets dropped. We planned a whole weekend around it. She told me the seats didn’t matter. She just wanted to be there. I asked if she was sure, since she’s afraid of heights, and she said it would be fine.

The night of the concert, she wore platform shoes even though I begged her to wear Converse. When she saw how steep the stairs were, I could tell she was getting nervous. But she still tried. We went up three separate times trying to find our section, and finally an attendant told us the seats didn’t exist.

We were relocated, but the stress had already piled up. Then a man behind us started spilling beer on us. Our hair and shirts were soaked. I asked him to stop, not once, but three or four times. After that, he was too far gone to reason with. Ivy just sat there quietly, trying to hold it together. I kept checking in, asking if she wanted to leave. Eventually, she looked at me and nodded. We couldn’t even find an attendant to help at that point, so we just left. Before the show even ended.

That was supposed to be her night. Her first big concert. Her moment.

I shared the story online hoping the guy who spilled on us might see it and feel like a jerk. But something unexpected happened. People were kind. Some encouraged me to make a GoFundMe to give Ivy a second chance. I wasn’t planning on it, but I did, and now we’re close to our goal.

I know I should have researched the seats better. I honestly thought it would be okay. I have ADHD and sometimes I act fast when I’m trying to make something special happen. I just wanted her to feel seen.

This isn’t just about a concert. It’s about giving a 13-year-old girl back the night she should have had.

I also know there are so many people out there who need help more than we do. Please help them first. But if you ever wanted to donate just one dollar, we would be absolutely thrilled. Ivy would be over the moon just knowing people cared.
