Our names are Ally Duvak and Cecilia Bracey and we are the writer and director of -in-chief, respectively. The play is making its New York City debut this September at The Tank. This award-winning script follows the editor-in-chief of a college newspaper as the impending 2016 presidential election looms large over the United States. The show can be described as a lot of things: snappy, honest, funny, complicated. But if we had to choose one word, we’d say that this play is urgent.
We take a bold stance against contemporary misogyny in this 80-minute political piece. The show unabashedly calls out those who are making life harder for their fellow Americans, most notably the person currently residing in the White House.
This is the exact type of writing that is being censored across our country in 2025. We need to put this play in front of audiences now more than ever before.
But staging a show in New York is no small feat. That’s why we’re asking for your help today. Your donation will help us compensate our creative team, purchase costumes and props, rent rehearsal space, and so much more. Moreover, in supporting this play, you are supporting the inherently American value of free speech.
We would be so grateful for any support that you can provide for this timely show. Whether you’re donating, spreading the word, or cheering us on: thank you.
