Our friend Illias was detained by ICE, and his family and partner Hannah are now facing a very difficult and uncertain time. Illias is a caring partner, friend, and member of our community. His sudden detention has been incredibly painful for those who know and love him. We are starting this fundraiser to help cover the urgent legal expenses needed to support his case and to prepare for a possible bond so that he may be able to return home while his case moves forward. Immigration legal fees and bond costs can be extremely expensive, and the financial burden is overwhelming for his loved ones to handle alone. All funds raised will go directly toward immigration attorney fees, potential bond payment, and court and case-related expenses. As of writing this on March 17th, Illias is detained at MDC in Brooklyn, New York. Illias, his family, and Hannah also ask for your good wishes and prayers during this time of uncertainty.

"Illias and I have been together for 9 months, and have been inseparable since July 1st. We hardly go a day without being in each other’s arms. His love to me is unlike anything I have ever been shown. His love is unconditional, and he is so understanding and open. We have virtually met each other’s families. His brother visited us recently, they hadn’t seen each other in 4 years. It meant everything. He was supposed to meet my mom next month. We were in the process of moving in together, and were prepping our future together. We wanted to get a dog. Two dogs even. We planned to marry, he got me a promise ring to symbolize our future. We wanted to have kids, talked about names. Talked about long term goals that would be built here in America. Opening our own restaurant, bar, and cafe. He continues to support my career and pushes for my greatness. I can’t express how much I love him. How much he means to me. He is the love of my life. He is everything to me. I have never loved someone so deeply and infinitely."
