Bring Hope to Tasneem's Displaced Family

"Every bit of support, no matter how small, means the world to us - it means a warm meal, a bottle of clean water, and a smile on Maryam's little face."
-Tasneem

Hello, my name is Grae Haldage. I have been facilitating mutual aid projects in the US for a few years now and have been assisting Tasneem's family in occupied Gaza for approximately 9 months. All money raised is sent directly to the family through secure channels to purchase essentials that are available, including but not limited to food, water, medical care, clothes, and supplies for their tent.

Tasneem's family is from a small village outside of Khan Younis named Khuza'a. They have been displaced 6 times since 2023 and, as a result of the ceasefire ending in March, are no longer able to even visit Khuza'a or return to the rubble of their home (pictured below). Tasneem's father suffered from a severe head injury at the beginning of the war, and the care for her family of 7 has largely fallen on her and her eldest brother, Suhaib's, shoulders. Her youngest sister, Maryam (pictured below), is only 8 years old. Please feel free to contact me personally for more information on the family and their status.

Here is a message from Tasneem and Maryam:

"Hello everyone, we wish you a happy day.

I am Tasneem, the eldest daughter in my family. I am 19 years old. I was supposed to finish high school (Tawjihi) last year, but the war deprived me of my right to education. It took away my chance to celebrate my success and to start the future I've always dreamed of. I had big ambitions, but the harsh circumstances put everything on hold.

I am Maryam, the youngest daughter of this family. I am only 8 years old. I don't understand why we have to move from one place to another. Why can't we live like other children in peace and safety? Why do we have to carry our home in bags? Why do we have to leave our memories behind everywhere we go? I miss my school, my friends, and our home, which now only exists in our memories.

We write these words today from the city of Khan Younis, which is now under threat of evacuation at any moment. We live each day in fear and uncertainty, not knowing what tomorrow holds. But, despite everything, we continue to dream and hold onto hope. We dream of returning soon, of a peaceful life, and of reclaiming our right to education and safety. Today, we are doing everything we can to survive, trying to secure the basic necessities - food and water - and the snacks Maryam, like any other child, loves and always asks for. These may seem like small things, but they make a big difference in the life of a little girl. For this reason, we have created this GoFundMe page - to help us secure what we need to keep going and to be a helping hand for us in these difficult times. Every bit of support, no matter how small, means the world to us - it means a warm meal, a bottle of clean water, and a smile on Maryam's little face."
