Today I call upon you, friends, family, strangers, sisters, and brothers in Christ, for a special little girl who holds a place in so many people's hearts. I know that so many of us right now are having financial difficulties, and with everything going on in the world, we all wish we could do more. If your heart feels led to contribute, I pray that you are blessed abundantly. If you are not able to and want to do something, I encourage you to share this story so that it may reach the corners of the world to help out this sweet little girl.

Ms. Sophia K. Beninati made her grand entrance into this world on March 10, 2012. She was the miracle baby whom her parents discovered they were pregnant with after adopting her brother Daniel, and having sister Isabella. Sophia is one of the 450,000 American individuals with Down syndrome living in the US. There are over 2 million people facing this diagnosis every single day. 1 in 775 live births results in a Down syndrome diagnosis. But I assure you, you will never find another Sophia.

Recently, Sophia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. While most with this diagnosis have, she has been blessed that she does not have it in her spinal fluid. That being said, she does however have it in her blood and bone marrow.
Sophia had her port installed last week with some difficulties, however, has received her first treatment and will be on to the second one in a few days.

(Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is a fast-growing cancer of the blood characterized by an overproduction of immature lymphocytes (lymphoblasts) in the bone marrow and blood, crowding out healthy blood cells. It is the most common type of childhood cancer but can also affect adults, and if left untreated, it progresses rapidly and can be fatal.)

At this point in time, Sophia is at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center and will be there for the next 3-4 weeks. In total, they are looking at treatment for the next two years. While she is there, her father Joseph will be bed side with her. As the sole caregiver to both Daniel and Sophia both with developmental issues, he is facing being out of work for the next 12 weeks or more. The next few months will be crucial for them.

Sophia loves Barbies, painting her nails, (with dad's help of course) coloring, drawing and is a girly girl. If you are not able to donate to her, as a family friend I am asking for her to receive as much happy mail as she can get while at the hospital.
If all you can do is pray, that too would be just enough.

Whatever is put on your heart today, will be a blessing tomorrow and will help this family tremendously. There are so many uncertainties right now, so lets come together and bring them some peace for the next few months.

From the very bottom of my heart, I thank you. This is the most deserving little girl for so much love and blessings. She is a beautiful happy little girl who has a whole lot of people that love her.

Thank you for reading this, and for all of your support.
