We are asking for urgent help for our dear friend, Shari Smith, who is in the fight of her life. Shari has been diagnosed with non-alcoholic cirrhosis and is in desperate need of a liver transplant. As she waits and prays for a life-saving donor match, each day brings more uncertainty, pain, and hardship.

Because of the severity of her illness, Shari is only able to work very limited hours, and even that has become physically exhausting. Her health continues to decline, and she is frequently in and out of the hospital due to life threatening complications, treatments, and ongoing medical care. Everyday tasks that many take for granted have become a struggle or impossible.

Through it all, Shari continues to fight—not only for herself, but for her daughter, who depends on her.

As a single mother, the financial burden has become crushing. Medical bills continue to pile up while rent, utilities, groceries, transportation to appointments, and basic household expenses do not stop. With her ability to work greatly reduced, making ends meet has become exceedingly stressful and nearly impossible.

We are creating this fundraiser so Shari can focus on surviving, healing, and being there for her daughter instead of worrying about paying the next bill.
