Support California Fire Victims: Bringing Hope and Healing
Dear Friends and Family,
My name is Polly Deo, and I am reaching out to share about a heartbreaking tragedy unfolding in California. As many of you know, devastating wildfires have swept through our state, leaving countless families, individuals, and animals without homes, resources, and hope. It’s hard to put into words the immense heartbreak these communities are experiencing. The air is heavy not just with smoke but with the weight of loss—loss of homes, cherished memories, and the stability so many of us take for granted.
By the grace of God, I am incredibly blessed to still have a home, a job, and all my needs taken care of. But my heart is breaking for the many who have lost everything. In a city where housing is already difficult to find, the fires have displaced an overwhelming number of families and individuals. Many are now left with nothing but the clothes on their backs, and they’re struggling to meet even their most basic needs.
Moved by compassion and a call to serve, I’ve been collecting water, hygiene products, and other essentials to help those affected by this tragedy. However, the need is far greater than what I can manage alone. That’s where I humbly ask for your help.
I’m reaching out to my friends and community in Cape Cod and beyond to join me in bringing hope and relief to those who are suffering. Whether big or small, your donation will make a real difference. Every dollar raised will go directly toward purchasing essential items such as:
• Clean drinking water
• Hygiene supplies
• Non-perishable food
• Clothing
• Blankets
• Temporary shelter resources
Your gift, no matter the size, is a tangible expression of love and hope.
I also want to thank my dear friend Ivey Sgarione from Cape Cod, who has joined me in this mission and is helping collect funds. Together, Ivey and I are focusing on raising financial support to make the greatest impact possible. We’re committed to transparency and will report every detail—where the funds are going, from collection to distribution—because we know that together, we can do so much more.
Additionally, I am partnering with my church and other non-profit organizations to ensure that the resources we collect are distributed where they are needed most. These are people and organizations that I have been volunteering and working with during my time in Los Angeles. Their deep roots in the community and their mission to serve make them ideal partners in delivering aid to those in need.
Jesus teaches us in Matthew 25:35-40 to care for those in need: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me…” Together, we can be the hands and feet of Christ, extending His love to our neighbors in this critical time.
Please consider donating and, most importantly, praying for those affected by this disaster. If you’re unable to give financially, sharing this campaign with others would also be a tremendous help.
Thank you for standing with Ivey and me as we work alongside our church and these organizations to bring comfort, resources, and God’s love to those in need. Together, we can be a light in this time of darkness.
With gratitude and hope,
Polly Deo
