Help JoVonn Battle M.S: Donate Toward a Life-Changing Walking Device
Goal: $12,000 | ❤️ Raised so far: $0
Meet JoVonn Wright, a 42-year-old mother, friend, and fearless fighter who’s been battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS) since 2010. For over 15 years, JoVonn has shown unmatched resilience in the face of a progressive and unpredictable disease.
Despite years of dedicated physical therapy and regular care from her neurologist, MS has now caused foot drop—a debilitating condition that weakens the muscles needed to lift the front part of the foot. Walking has become increasingly difficult and painful. Today, JoVonn relies on a cane and a rigid leg brace for her right foot and fears the left may soon need bracing too. Without intervention, she risks losing her ability to walk entirely.
But there is hope—and you can be part of it.
What JoVonn Needs:
JoVonn’s best chance at maintaining her mobility is a Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Device. This breakthrough device sends small, safe electrical impulses to her leg muscles, helping restore movement, build strength, and retrain her body to walk again.
✨ Benefits of FES:
✔️ Improves walking speed and stride
✔️ Strengthens weakened muscles
✔️ Enhances balance, circulation, and range of motion
✔️ Slows muscle degeneration caused by MS
Why We’re Fundraising:
Unfortunately, JoVonn’s insurance does not cover FES, despite its proven medical benefits.
The cost of a quality FES system ranges from $5,000 to $6,000, with more advanced home-use devices reaching $15,000 to $20,000.
We’re setting a $10,000 goal to help cover the cost of the 2 FES devices (lower & upper leg) and related medical expenses, so JoVonn can keep walking—step by courageous step.
