Help Bring Hope and Education to Haiti’s Children
Imagine crossing a river that swells into dangerous waters after every rainfall, risking your life for the sake of education. This is the reality Mr. And Mrs. Reginald Belizaire and their staff face as they work to expand their school, Elijah Christian Institution, into the mountains of Haiti. Over 30 children in this remote area are without access to education, and despite the political unrest and economic challenges, Reginald is stepping out in faith to bring hope and opportunity to these children. But he cannot do it alone—he needs your help.
A Vision for Change
Elijah Christian Institution was founded three years ago by Reginald Belizaire with a powerful mission: to provide not only academic education to children from pre-K through 6th grade but also to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. During their first year more than 70 students were enrolled. They currently have 46 students enrolled at their first location. In a country where only about 60% of children are enrolled in primary school, and less than 50% ever finish, this school has been a beacon of light and hope for its students and their families. But the school's mission doesn’t end with textbooks. Reginald also teaches life skills, preparing students for the challenges of the real world. From basic household management to decision-making and personal responsibility, these lessons help children build a foundation for success beyond the classroom. Additionally, entrepreneurial skills are taught to empower children, showing them the potential they carry within to break the cycle of poverty and create generational wealth. Despite limited resources and ongoing political instability, Reginald and his team have persisted, often using their personal finances to keep the school running. Haiti’s education system is severely underfunded—90% of schools in Haiti are private, meaning families must pay tuition fees, making education inaccessible for many. Mr. and Mrs. Belizaire have shouldered these burdens, but the financial strain has taken a toll.
A New Challenge
Now, a new call has come: to open a second school in the mountains where no formal education is available. In a country already devastated by poverty, natural disasters, and political unrest, these children have been left behind, without hope for a better future. The journey to the mountains is treacherous, requiring Reginald and his staff to cross rivers that flood and swell after heavy rains—rivers that have tragically claimed lives. Yet, despite these obstacles, Reginald feels called to expand Elijah Christian Institution to these underserved children, to provide not just education but life-changing skills and a path toward a brighter future.
A Dire Need for Support
In addition to the physical risks, there is the financial challenge. Rising inflation and political instability have made it difficult for local families to sustain themselves, let alone fund their children's education. With over 50% of Haitians living on less than $2.41 per day, Haitian youth have turned to a life of violence and crime. The need is urgent! Reginald cannot continue this work alone. He needs your support to open the new school, provide materials, and ensure the safety of his staff and students.
How You Can Help
This is your opportunity to be part of a movement that brings hope, education, life skills, and the Gospel to children who otherwise would never have the chance to learn. Your contribution will not only support the building of a new school in the mountains but will also provide essential supplies, ensure the safety of the staff, and allow Reginald to continue his life-changing work without sacrificing his own livelihood. We invite you to stand with us in this mission. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to changing lives, building generational prosperity, and bringing hope to Haiti’s children. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
