I am organizing this fundraiser on Kenn’s behalf, and all funds raised will go directly toward his housing, transportation, groceries, and essential living expenses. Kenn is the kind of person his former colleagues and customers at British Airways remember — warm, reliable, and always ready with a smile or a helping hand. But over the last several years, especially through the Covid period, one heartbreaking loss after another has left him with nothing. In 2018, Kenn lost his sister Marlene. Then, in 2020, he lost his sister Janis. Kenn, Janis, and Marlene had all lived together in the home they shared. Not long after, he also lost the job and sense of community at British Airways that had meant so much to him. With both sisters gone and his world shifting around him, Kenn lost the home they had all shared. As the financial strain deepened, he was forced to leave the city and put his belongings into storage. When he could no longer keep up with the payments, everything was auctioned off. Through every hardship, Kenn has stayed incredibly kind and never given up hope. Right now he is living in the small rural town of Bassano, Alberta, the only affordable place he can find. It’s just a basic room, far from any support network, and not a sustainable home for him and his two beloved cats, Buddy and Missis. My hope is to raise enough to help Kenn return to Calgary, find a safe and stable home for himself and his cats, and begin rebuilding his life. He needs housing, groceries, transportation, and the basic security to breathe again. In time, Kenn hopes to find meaningful work in the community helping others who are going through difficult times.
We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to help Kenn:
• secure stable housing
• arrange transportation
• cover groceries and essential living expenses
• begin rebuilding with dignity and hope Any amount helps.
If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would mean so much. Thank you for helping bring hope back into Kenn’s life.
