Bring Home Bugre

From South East Regional Champion to one week later being in the ER fighting for his life, Bugre and Issac need our help in this tragic time.

“Well first day of WDC prep yesterday did not go as planned. Bugre suffered a heat stroke, and bloat. I took him straight to the ER from the training field after he quickly seemed unresponsive and unable to cool down, and I’m so glad I did. They were able to perform emergency surgery to stop the bloat. He started to go septic around 8 pm and had some serious clotting, kidney failure, blood sugar was really low, pallets out of whack, etc so they did a blood transfusion around midnight last night.. as of this morning he’s more responsive and can almost start to stand on his own but his blood sugar is still way too low, so they are running more blood tests at 11. They said his hate for people in his space is what’s pushing his responsiveness in the right direction, so we’ll take small wins for now. Please keep him in your prayers. Thank you to my training group for all the support and love. Means the world to us. The furthest thing from my mind is training or trialing with him ever again, I just want him to make it home ♥️ he’s my best friend.

Please be safe when training, as it starts to warm up. Yesterday wasn’t even close to “hot” per Georgia standards, but you never know. Some things you can do to help your dog: use a kiddy pool of cool water to down the dog in before/after sessions, have plenty of drinkable water on hand, make sure your crate is large enough for dog to stretch out in, invest in a shade tarp/ryobi fan combination, break your sessions into mini sessions for multiples(!!!), give PLENTY of walk around/cool down time after the work before putting them back in the vehicle! Bugre had been done working for maybe 30 seconds when I noticed he was wobbly in the back legs and another 3 minutes and he became unresponsive.”

The love and care Issac, his wife and loving daughters have for Bugre is endless. Bugre is more than just a competition dog, he is a huge part of their hearts and family.

Any donation no matter how small will help during this time, if you can’t donate please share, but above all please pray.
