Hello, my name is Lynda Chagra and I am seeking funds for my daughter Holli Nix, who has cholangiocarcinoma cancer that is not curable but can be treated. My baby girl is 45 years old, and her outlook is not good. She has cancer in her liver, pelvis, hips, ribs, and we just found out it is in the base of her skull. This kind of cancer is mean and aggressive.

Holli was in a lot of pain in her back, so we took her to emergency care thinking she might have a pulled muscle or slipped disc. After scans and an MRI, we were given the worst diagnosis that shattered our and Holli's life.

Holli has been in Emory University for two plus weeks and is in heartbreaking pain. They give her pain meds that help for a short time. The doctors put a cement-like substance in an area of her spine that was crushed from a large tumor, hoping to help ease the pain. It helped for one day. She was taken down for radiation, but the doctors changed their minds, fearing the shrinkage of the large tumor would cause her spine to collapse. Yesterday (09/05/25), she had surgery not requiring a large cut, and they put a rod held with small screws in her spine to help stabilize it so they can do radiation.

The doctors are doing what they can to help with her pain. Holli cries and begs me and other loved ones to take her home. She tells us she is so sorry, which breaks our hearts. This horrible cancer is killing my daughter. With treatment (radiation and chemotherapy), she can live 6 months to 1.5 years.

Holli has 3 wonderful children and a 2-year-old grandson that she wants to play with and see him grow.

There are no words for how I feel. When she was a little girl, I could kiss her pains away, but with this, no kiss, hug, beg, or promise will take it away. Prayers are constantly going out for her.

The reason I am asking for donations is Holli has no insurance. Holli lost her job months back and could not afford to keep the insurance. I do not know the fees that have and continue to accumulate. She is signing up for what help is available. Holli has to have someone with her around the clock. We all share with this. She wants to come home to spend as much time as she can with her children and family, and not die at the hospital. She is so scared, as we all are. Most of us live out of town, and the expense of going and staying with her is costly. When, and I hope soon, she is able to be released to come home, she will need 24-hour help and other needs. Holli will start her chemo when she gets released, and we are praying for good reports.

I appreciate anyone in advance that can help me get my daughter home and what it takes to help with her treatments. We were told she will never be totally out of pain, and with therapy, she can learn to contain it and have a better quality of life.
