Bring Holiday Joy to a Store Clerk's Kids
Donation protected
Hello all. As a police officer, I come in contact with those who work at gas stations and convenience stores quite often. We get to know each other in a way I would say falls somewhere between an acquaintance and a colleague. I call them “shift friends.”
Part of the privilege and honor of being a police officer is that on occasion, one of these “shift friends” finds trust in you and shares a part of their life. Sometimes it’s a painful part, sometimes it’s a joyful part, but it’s always an honor and a privilege to be there for them.
Recently I had such a privilege in that a store clerk opened up about the pain and difficulty of facing the upcoming holiday season. She was driving home and a vehicle struck her, totaling her car. Having very little support, having to Uber to work, having hospital bills for her child who was in the car, and the other driver not being insured has all taken its toll on her both financially and emotionally. With all of that, what saddens her the most is that she doesn’t think she’ll be able to do anything for her kids for Christmas.
I would like your help in raising funds to give her kids their Christmas back, and maybe having a little to put towards a new vehicle. Thank you for your contribution.
