Bring Hera Home: Emergency Vet Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Blake, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. My dog, Hera, means everything to me. She’s a six-year-old rescued German Shepherd and has been my constant companion. Hera was there through every difficult move and moment of despair. She’s more than just a pet; she’s my best friend, my anchor, and my source of comfort during my darkest times of depression and anxiety. She somehow always senses when something is wrong.
We recently moved into a cozy little new home, hoping it would give her more space and peace. But on our very first day, something terrible happened. While I was at work, Hera managed to get into a bottle of aspirin. When I got home and saw her, I was hit with panic. I knew immediately that something was wrong and rushed her to the emergency vet.
She’s been in intensive care ever since. Her kidneys were severely affected, and the first 24 hours were critical. The vet told me that if she didn’t show signs of neurological damage during that time, there was hope for recovery—but it will be a long road. She’s still being closely watched, but we’re not out of danger yet.
I’ve never been one to ask for help before, but everything is happening all at once. I just finished moving, my savings are gone, and I’m covering my healthcare costs while preparing for school this fall. Now, I’m facing a vet bill I can’t afford alone.
Hera is my family. She’s the gentle push when I’m anxious, the quiet presence when I need grounding, the reason I keep going some days. There’s a spot reserved for her on the couch, and a place in my heart that doesn’t beat right without her by my side.
Even a small contribution would mean everything. Your donation will go directly toward Hera’s emergency vet care and recovery. If you can’t give, sharing this with others can still make a big difference. Thank you for helping me fight to bring Hera home.
