On May 12th, my husband Guilherme De Azevedo was unexpectedly detained by ICE. Our family is devastated and heartbroken, and we are now facing an overwhelming legal and financial burden to bring him home where he belongs.

Guilherme is the kind of person who makes everyone around him feel valued and respected. He is one of the most hardworking, humble, and generous people you could ever meet. Whether he’s lending a hand to a neighbor, staying late to help a co-worker, or quietly supporting someone in need, Guilherme does it all with grace and kindness—never asking for anything in return.

He has always respected and contributed to his community. He’s lived with integrity, treating everyone with compassion and dignity. Guilherme is a good citizen in every sense of the word— With that being proven along the years living a life with no criminal record and no problems with immigation. Now, he’s being forced away from the life he’s built, the people who love him, and the country he calls home.

We are doing everything we can to fight for his release, but legal representation and immigration fees are incredibly costly. We need your help. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to reuniting our family. Funds raised will go toward the process of legalization through marriage, a bond motion, detention related costs, and personal expenses he cannot take care of as he isn’t here.

O Guilherme é uma daquelas pessoas que fazem a diferença na vida de todo mundo ao redor. Ele é extremamente trabalhador, humilde e generoso. Sempre pronto pra ajudar um vizinho, dar aquela força no trabalho ou apoiar alguém em silêncio, sem esperar nada em troca. Ele faz tudo com o coração e sempre com respeito.

Ele sempre viveu de forma honesta e contribuiu com a comunidade. Trata todo mundo com carinho, respeito e dignidade. O Guilherme é um bom cidadão em todos os sentidos — tendo provado isso ao longo dos anos vivendo uma vida sem recorde criminal ou problemas imigratório. Agora, está sendo arrancado da vida que construiu com tanto esforço, das pessoas que o amam e do país que ele chama de lar.
