Express News San Antonio My name is Silver Garcia, and I’m asking for help for two of the people closest to my heart—my brother, Greyson, and my best friend, Julyssa.

We were targeted while leaving a protest meant to protect innocent immigrants. Now Greyson and Julyssa are being held, and I’m trying to do everything I can to get them out as soon as possible. We don’t know the exact charges yet, and we don’t know how high the fees will be until they see a magistrate—but what we do know is that every moment they’re inside matters.

These aren’t just names on a screen. These are people I trust with my life. People who show up, even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard.

My brother Greyson runs a nonprofit that started as a free art studio—a place where people could create, breathe, and feel safe. Even after that chapter closed, he never stopped giving back. He’s out here providing food to those who need it and making sure people can access Plan B for free, because he believes care should never be conditional.

Julyssa is in school learning ASL to become an interpreter. She’s building her life around helping people be heard, understood, and included. That’s who she is—quietly, constantly showing up for others.

They don’t deserve to be behind bars. They belong out here—with their people, with their communities, doing the work they’ve always done. And I need them back. We need them back.
