Bring Gary Home: Urgent Medical Fund

We are trying to raise funds to help Gary get home and have medical care close to family. Anyone who knows Gary will tell you how big his heart is, hardworking and dedicated to family he is. He is strong, proud, and has always carried his heart on his sleeve.

Unfortunately an incident happened that has now placed Gary into a critical state, in Tennessee. His closest family lives in Florida, including myself, the mother of his youngest son, Levi (4yrs old). Gary has sustained a traumatic brain injury that has life changing impacts not only for himself but also everyone around him. Once we can help restore some physical functions, I know that will improve the cognitive deficit.

Due to not having insurance and that struggle of getting resources to get him into a Intensive Inpatient Rehabilitation for physical therapy, they are now wanting to release him to a nursing home. Without getting into IPR, we feel his condition would deteriorate.

Gary is a strong man, and I know he can progress quickly if we can get him where he needs to be. Ideally we will be able to move him to Florida for the IPR, so family can continue to support his mental and cognitive functioning. As of right now they are anticipating to discharge him to a nursing facility until we can figure this out. The quicker we can get him a place to go the better the final outcome will be.

The funds we are trying to raise will contribute to transportation (including travel for care, and relocation), medical cost not covered and anything else that may arise during a time like this. I know everyone has been praying, and I know he is going to make it through this, but for how long should someone suffer or be limited due to not having insurance.

I have applied for Medicaid and healthcare but those applications can take up to 90 days.

I understand times are hard right now, but any contribution can help bring Gary back to Gary.

As of 4-27-25 he has now been in the hospital 30 days.
