Bring Gaga Home!!!

Hi, my name is Ronan and recently me and my family received devastating news about my brother Jonathan or Gaga as most of you know him. Doctors discovered a tumor on Jonathans spine, which has paralysed him below the waist. Unfortunately, days later we discovered that he also has a rare and aggressive spinal/brain cancer, and has only one shot at radiotherapy giving him some more time with us.

Our top priority is get our brother home from hospital as soon as possible so that he can enjoy what time he has left in the care of his family.

The reason for this fundraiser is that are sizeable changes to be made to the family home to suit Jonathans needs.

We have looked at applying for grants, but the truth is that the time frame for applying is just too long, and time is of the essence.

His bed, hoist and armchair are provided by the State.

Here's an example of some of things we need to do and/or purchase that are not provided, or wouldn't be provided in a suitable time.

Electric wheelchair.

Demolition and reconstruction of our downstairs sitting room into a suitable bedroom.

Construction of a downstairs wet room, entailing ground works, electrical, gas, plumbing, tiling and some steel work.

Other smaller jobs include side access to the house, ramps and floors being made wheelchair friendly.

I'm sure that there are more jobs that will come to mind or crop up once we start this.

We just want to get Jonathan home and give him the facility to make his own way to nearby friends, or out to the shop (Dolans) for coffee.
