Help Bring Emmanuel Home to His Family
Emmanuel came to the United States in 2022 seeking asylum, hoping for safety and a future where he could protect and provide for his family.

Since arriving, he has worked hard, followed the rules, and supported his household as the sole breadwinner and primary caregiver.

In August, after successfully passing his credible fear interview with U.S. immigration authorities, Emmanuel was nevertheless suddenly detained without warning. In an instant, he was taken away from his family, leaving behind his wife, who was eight months pregnant, and their 15-month-old child who depended on him every day. He's been held in Delaney Hall in Newark ever since.

Because of Emmanuel’s detention, his family has been pushed to the brink of homelessness. They are now facing eviction, overwhelming debt, and crushing legal expenses.

His wife was forced to give birth alone. Emmanuel has never held his newborn baby, never seen his child’s first smile, and has missed every milestone since being taken into detention.

Emmanuel is a devoted husband and father. He has no criminal history, has complied with all ICE requirements, and is not a danger to the community. His continued detention serves no public interest and instead causes severe hardship to innocent children and a family struggling to survive without him.

We urgently need help to cover legal fees so Emmanuel can fight for his freedom and reunite with his family. His legal team must file the following time-sensitive motions:
  • Appeal of his immigration case: $4,010
  • Habeas writ challenging his detention: $2,500
  • Request for bond so he can return home while his case continues: $2,500
Total legal costs needed: $9,010

These filings are Emmanuel’s only chance to challenge his detention, seek release on bond, and be present for his children while his case proceeds.

No child should grow up without their father. No mother should face childbirth alone. No family should be torn apart for seeking safety.

Please help Emmanuel fight this battle for liberty and bring him home to the family who needs him. Every donation—no matter the amount—brings us one step closer to reuniting this family.

Thank you for your compassion, support, and solidarity.
