We are Run for Their Lives, Lakeview—a local chapter of a global movement that walks every week to raise awareness for the release of the hostages held in Gaza. Week after week, we walk to remind the world that they are not forgotten.

Now, we have a unique opportunity to bring one of those voices to Chicago.

We are raising funds to bring Eli Sharabi—a survivor and recently released hostage from Gaza—to speak in our city and share his powerful story of resilience, loss, and hope.

Eli was held captive in Gaza for over 490 days, enduring unimaginable conditions. His return is a miracle—but his journey is not over. His voice is a vital one, speaking not only for himself but for the many hostages who are still waiting to come home, including his brother Yossi, who remains in captivity.

This event will be a chance for our community to come together, hear Eli’s story firsthand, and stand in solidarity with the families of the hostages. We are organizing this gathering to raise awareness, offer support, and keep the hostages in the public eye.

All funds raised will go directly toward covering the costs of bringing Eli to Chicago, including airfare, accommodations, and other travel logistics. Any additional funds will be donated to organizations supporting the hostages and their families.
