We are delighted to launch a very special fundraising appeal to help bring to life some a much-loved members of our North East Lincolnshire fostering family - Duggie and Dorothy.

Duggie and Dorothy are our fostering team mascots. They represent the things that sit at the heart of fostering: love, care, belonging, stability and valuing every child for who they are.

They have already become a firm favourite with children living in our fostering homes. They have joined fostering families on adventures, days out and holidays, becoming a familiar little companion for children who are part of our fostering community.

Now we want to give Duggie and Dorothy their biggest adventure yet - by creating a life-size mascot costumes for them both.

Why this matters

This is about much more than a costume. Duggie and Dorothy are a symbol of the message we want every child in our care to feel:

You matter. You are valued. You are cared for. You belong.

A life-size Duggie and Dorothy would be able to attend fostering events, celebrations, community activities and family days. He would help create moments of joy, fun and recognition for children, foster carers and families across North East Lincolnshire.

Across North East Lincolnshire, our workforce, foster carers, Foster Friendly businesses, schools, community organisations and partners have already shown what can happen when a whole place gets behind fostering. This appeal is another opportunity for us to come together around something positive, visible and full of heart.
