Lisa Maarek is a Miami-based writer, director, and producer. She was born in Paris and moved to the cultural melting pot of Miami at 3 years old. Being born in Paris has allowed her to grow up with a strong appreciation for the arts, especially filmmaking.

She is now making a short film that follows Luna, an impulsive solo traveler, who confronts an incident from her past and gradually learns the real motives for her travels. The film is called "Dear Stella" and it explores the complexity of grief through the lens of someone trying to escape it.
