Bring David home to California

On June 6 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada, our beloved sibling David Phlong passed away at the young age of 26, from an apartment fire at the Tides on Charleston.

His brother, Roth, had already left for work at 4:00 am, and David acknowledged a text between them at 4:56 am. The LV Fire department received multiple calls with the first one that came in at 5:04 am. In that short span of time, it appears David was not able to make his way out. He was scheduled to go into work at 6:00 am.

Shortly after, Roth received a call from Davids’ employer that he did not show up which is unusual because he is always punctual and maintains communication all the time. After multiple missed calls from family and others, we knew something bad had happened. Then, an update in the afternoon of a body found was reported by the news. The whole building was up in flames. We could not fathom the fact David was wide awake while others were probably still asleep but yet he was the ONLY person that wasn’t able to be rescued / escape.

David and Roth moved to Las Vegas in July 2022 to pursue David’s dream of purchasing a new home for his mother. He landed his career with McCarthy and was able to make it happen- using his own design from scratch, which was set to be completed by the end of June 2023. He would have had keys in hand in less than 3 weeks to give to his mother- now the property may go into forfeit.

We ask for your help and prayer to bring David back home from Nevada to California. To provide a proper farewell and celebration of life. We also ask for your guidance in helping Roth regain basic needs to get back on his feet since everything has perished in the building.

David is survived by his mom, dad, four older siblings. No amount is too small, and every single donation will make a difference in our lives.

Your support will not only provide financial relief but will also be a beacon of hope for us, reminding us that kindness and love prevail even in the face of the toughest challenges.
If you cannot donate, can you please share this with all who may have had the pleasure of knowing David.
