CROSSWORDS - A short film about fate, reality jumping, and most importantly, choosing yourself when the sun goes down. From the mind of Braydon Dayne.

Written, directed, and produced by Braydon Dayne, CROSSWORDS is a sister film to an upcoming mini-album of the same name. CROSSWORDS follows a man working a dead-end 9 to 5 after never pursuing his love of music. One day in the office, he spots a crumpled up piece of paper on the ground: a crossword puzzle... offering a cash prize. Down on his luck, the man takes it home and completes it, eager for any opportunity to turn his life around. Upon completion, he is transported to an alternate universe where he’s a global, chart-topping pop-star. For 24 hours, an unknown presence watches as he experiences his dream life of fame, fortune, and romance. Once the 24 hours are up, he is left with a decision: go back to his life in the office cubes, or live out his “perfect” life of fame.

For years I have strived to combine my different avenues of art into various projects. I'm an actor, singer, dancer, writer, designer, editor, and through CROSSWORDS, I am looking to push the boundaries of my creativity even further. After producing my first three singles in the last few months, CROSSWORDS was born. Along with it, a storyline and world I am passionate about. It's a story of stardom, queer love, the supernatural, and life's purpose, all packed into 23 pages and six songs.

This short film will be produced in Wisconsin throughout the following months, with some roles already being cast. I've recruited some other creatives onto my team, all of whom are endlessly talented. I am beyond confident that I have cultivated a strong group to make this project a reality. I am hoping to begin filming in February, but in order for that to happen, I need your help!

So far, this film has been entirely self-funded, but that can only get me so far (I am a college student, after all). With your donation, I can purchase equipment (lighting, camera gear, etc.), supply food for the cast and crew, cover location costs, market the film, and so much more. Remember, every donation counts, and I am endlessly grateful that you've even read this far!

With that, thank you for your time. If you'd like to inquire about the film, or just get in touch, you can find contact information on my website. Or, reach out on my socials! @braydondayne. Thank you for supporting small artists and film. Without small artists keeping the creative spirit alive, the world would not know art. AI will not be used in production of this film.
