My name is Connor, and this is my MX-5 Miata. This car means a lot to me - it was my first real sports car and has been a vehicle for my motorsports journey. In June of 2025 I crashed during an HPDE at NCM Motorsports Park and severely damaged the car. I’ve already put a lot of money into fixing it, but every time I approach the finish line it feels like more comes up broken.
So far I’ve accrued debt to replace/repair the following:
Steering Rack ($750)
Driver’s Side Outer Tie Rod ($50)
Two wheels ($550)
Driver’s Side Lower Control Arm ($150)
Driver’s Side Front Upright ($200)
Driver’s Side Axle ($150)
Passenger Side Motor Mount ($50)
Front Bumper Cover ($150)
What remains to be repaired/replaced:
Driver’s Side Headlight ($850)
Airbag Control Module ($400)
Driver’s Side DRL ($250)
Driver’s Front Fender ($400)
Hood ($600+)
Driver’s Seatbelt ($300)
Driver’s Seat ($1000)
Front and Rear Wheel Bearing/Hub ($500 total)
Battery ($200)
Tow Hook ($85)
There’s a lot of body damage that I had to choose not to fix initially for budgetary reasons, and now it turns out that I need to replace the majority of the airbag system in order to make the car streetable again (despite none of the airbags going off).
I’m asking for any help the community can offer to aid in returning this car to running, driving condition, and paying off the debt that I’ve already incurred in attempting to do so on my own.
