Bring Comfort to Shane: Donate for His Care

Our family is reaching out to share the heartbreaking journey of our dear cousin/nephew/grandson and son Shane, who has been bravely battling Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP) — a rare and debilitating condition that causes his bones to freeze and restricts his mobility. Over the past six weeks, Shane has faced an agonizing flare-up in his left hip, leaving him in excruciating pain and unable to walk or perform daily activities independently.

Despite the tireless efforts of his doctors, including Dr. Kaplan, who has explained the severity of these flare-ups, we are struggling to find the right combination of medications to alleviate his suffering. Shane's condition is not just physically painful; it has taken a significant emotional toll on him and those who care for him.

To make matters worse, we’ve come to realize that their current living situation is no longer suitable for Shane’s needs. They will need to make significant modifications to their home to accommodate lifts and other necessary equipment, allowing Shane a semblance of independence and comfort.
