Bring 'Coin-Op' to Life: Fund Our Final Scenes

Donation protected
Coin-Op is an upcoming, multi-medium romantic comedy short film. Staring Chicago actors Evan Fienne and Mimi Viglietti the films tells the story of the beginning of the relationship between a chipper and charming but (literally) beaten up young man, after a very rough night, coming into a laundromat to wash his shirt and the young woman behind the counter who takes an interest in him. We have already filmed more than 80% of the script and are looking to use these funds to finish shooting the remaining pages.

Our fundraising goal is $5,000. Anyone who contributes $1-$2,000 will be given a special thanks credit at the end of the film. Anyone who contributed $2,001-$5,000 will be credited as an executive producer at the end of the film.

All those who contribute will also get an exclusive early look at the film.

Coin-Op tells the story of the beginnings of a relationship between a man and woman in the most unlikely of settings, a 24 hour laundromat in the middle of the night. Kurt Vonnegut once said "Every character should want something, even if it's only a glass of water". Well in our case we are trying to get a story. Specifically, the young woman behind the counter is trying to get the story of the young man's night out of him. He has clearly had a rough night, he is beaten (literally) and bloody. But the man simply is not telling. Instead he begins telling stories from his life, shown on screen in the style of the shows playing on the TV in the laundromat. The woman responds by telling stories from her life, also shown on screen in the style of shows on the tv in the laundromat. As these two interact as the mans shirt is in the wash they discover that they like each other and they have more in common than they initially thought.

This is a beautiful, funny and fun film. We are so excited to have already shot so much of it and are so excited to finish the film.
