Exciting news!
God has seen the desperate need of the orphans in Cameroon, Africa, and has been working in three countries to develop a ministry called “The Kingdom Messengers” with the tag line, “We share Jesus with the world.” It has all unfolded amazingly fast!
In the USA: As Daniel has been serving God to minister to the homeless and the university students in Seattle, WA, God started giving him visions of what his future ministry would look like. He saw himself playing soccer and loving children in Africa. Then a couple of months ago, God gave Daniel the name, tag line and vision of a logo that he was to create. He created the logo as he felt inspired by the Lord, and saved it for future use, expecting that it would be useful in God's perfect timing.
In Cyprus: (2019) On a mission trip to Cyprus, Daniel's mom, Becky, met Livanus who was a refugee from Cameroon. Since then, Becky and her husband, Lowell, have become his spiritual parents, talking on the phone several times a week. He and Daniel have become like brothers.
In Cameroon: This past year, God called Livanus back to his homeland of Cameroon. He went back knowing that he was called to start a ministry to orphans. Already, God has given him favor to have a free office space, a wonderful (affordable) attorney and even the gift of free land to build an orphanage. The only thing he still needed to legally start the ministry was a logo. God told him that the logo was already created and that he was supposed to ask Daniel about it. He was amazed to find out that Daniel had already designed and created the logo just weeks earlier. The Kingdom Messengers is now an official international NGO (non-governmental organization, like a 501c3 in the US). How this happened so quickly is an incredible part of the story. In his entire career, the attorney said he’d never seen an NGO get approved so quickly. It happened in just one day!!
Daniel will spend the entire month of October with Livanus in Cameroon, working together to further develop the ministry.
The needs are so great! The orphanages there lack funding from the government and the local people. The children live in horrible conditions. So, we feel God has given us the mandate to begin by working with the existing orphanages to bring their living conditions up to humane standards.
One of the first things we want to do is to bring safe drinking water to the orphans. We can dig wells for each orphanage for about $5,000. We also need money to send the children to school. The cost for a year is $140 for primary, $165 for secondary school, and $220 for high school.
Some children are very sick and need medical attention. Medical care is not provided by the government. So, people die if they can’t afford treatment. The children also need resources for better food and bedding. They are currently sleeping on old, dirty mattresses. Some are even sleeping on bare concrete floors.
We know there are many more homeless orphans and make-shift orphanages in Cameroon. To start, we are focusing on just three. The first one that we found is shown on the video above. It has 22 children with just one caregiver. She has had no funding but loves these children as if they were her own. The situation had become so horrible that she had lost hope and was ready to give up. There is no backup plan in Cameroon. That would have put these 22 orphans on the street. But God led Livanus to find this specific orphanage, and hope has been restored. There are now two more groups of orphans that we are focused on helping.
Little by little, day by day, we believe we will impact many orphans, sharing with them the love of the God who knows who they are and where they are.
We ask you to prayerfully consider joining us on this open door journey that God has created. At some point, we will bring teams to help us with these orphanages and ultimately with the construction of a new orphanage on the property that has already been given to us. But for now, we ask that you help us meet the most basic needs of these precious children.
School started September 9th and Kingdom Messengers has already been able provide the funds to send over 40 children from these three orphanages to school.
The need is great and God’s heart for them is huge.
Please help us change an orphan's life today!
