Bring Buddha "My Dad" Back
Hi my name is Rebekah "Becky" and I am the daughter of David Stamp aka "Buddha." I am asking for your help in bringing my dad back home to Montana, following a massive stroke while visiting his son in Florida.
Here is his story:
My dad has always instilled in each of his children the importance of family. When my mother fell ill to pulmonary fibrosis, he never hesitated to be her primary care taker. The last few years of my mother's life, caring for her was a 24/7 job for my dad. He took pride in caring for her and would never have had anyone else do the job. In doing this, my mother was able to get her dying wish and that was to be surrounded by her family and pass away peacefully in her home.
After my mother passed away, my dad moved to Hamilton, Montana to be close to his youngest daughter and her family in 2019. My dad embraced the Montana way of life and enjoyed 4-wheeling, hunting, walking at the farmer's market, cooking his ribs for friends and family, and cheering on his grand-children at their sporting events, etc. On 1/15/2021 he traveled to Florida for his annual trip to visit his son. Two days later he suffered a massive stroke. It has been a roller coaster of a ride for him since: he suffered two more strokes, spent time in the ICU, had a severe Gastrointestinal bleed, had a severe urinary tract infection coupled with severe dehydration which required another hospitalization... and yet he continues to do his best to keep a positive attitude. He is currently at a skilled nursing facility in Hudson, Florida where he is receiving occupational, physical, and speech therapy. He continues to make gains physically (although he cannot walk, he is learning how to feed himself independently, working on gaining strength so he can help with transfers), however mentally each day is a challenge because he is not HOME. Although the care he is receiving is good, it's just not home. He is surrounded by caring people, but they are strangers to him in an unfamiliar place. Just like it was my mothers wish to remain in her home, my dad wants to spend the rest of his life in his home - MONTANA.
Unfortunately, insurance does not pay for the transportation home. My dad's physical limitations do not allow for him to fly commercially nor drive in a car the long distance from Florida to Montana. Our only and last option is to fly him directly with an air ambulance, which is very costly, but necessary to get him home.
It will cost 22,000.00 to Bring Buddha Back.
I was taught by my two amazing parents that family is everything. I had two parents that gave me so much love, caring and compassion to their family and others. Please help me BRING MY DAD HOME so he can be with his family.
