Bring Brooke's Beautiful Sofa Design to Life

Hi! I'm Brooke M Davis and this is my creative project- my sofa design! During COVID, my sofa broke and it inspired me to design my own version of a sofa. As an artist and designer, I have worked in wood for many years creating furniture designs that express beauty and sensuality. To me these works are outward expressions of inward beauty that embody grace and timelessness. I draw influences from figures and flowers and some may say that my work is a modern day revival of the Art Nouveau style. To me though, I just like beautiful things that invite people to engage with them.

In my work, I use digital tools like CAD to make my creations and a CNC mill to make my parts. So far, I have managed to create most of the design in both MDF as a prototype and then in real parts in Solid Walnut that has been donated to me. I'm including a video that shows the back being milled over 9 days. It was 45 hours of cut time on the machine. This project has been a true labor of love and I know will be amazing once it is completed.

However, 2024 has been a rough financial year and as I am nearing the finish line of parts to make my hold up has been financing. I have spent countless hours of milling time on this project outside of my full time. I am now at a point that I may not have endless access to a CNC after December of this year. I would really like to finish up this project so that I can possibly show it in the spring time at events like ICFF or Art Basil in Miami. Any excess donations will go to this.

I am asking for $2500 to cover the cost of the remaining parts I need to make:
