“A young vampire slayer gets bitten and must chase the
vampire group responsible before the organization she
secretly works for finds out and prevent her impending
death by dawn.”

BLACK MOON is the second feature film from Nicholas Ortiz and Deviant Children Productions , a horror/action film set to be filmed in New York in Q3 of 2026. The award winning filmmaker and a talented team of actors and stunt professionals that have worked on on films and shows such as Marvel's Daredevil, Luke Cage, Law and Order and more, BLACK MOON promises that independent film in NYC is more than alive and well.

THE STORY
BLACK MOON is about ANYA, a new yet skilled Vampire Slayer in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Moonlighting as bicycle courier/delivery worker, ANYA fights a silent war against Undead and is backed by an underground slayer organization, hidden in plain sight amongst the nighttime workers who truly earn New York the reputation as “The City That Never Sleeps”.

One night, ANYA encounters a new threat. A trio of vampires tearing their way through the night and in their initial encounter, ANYA is bitten…

The bite of the vampire is death…. The Death Curse.
The blood of the vampire is undeath… The Blood Curse.

A vampire bite will kill its victim at sunrise, like a poisoned drip feed. The Death Curse will increase in toxicity until the body can no longer resist. At will, the vampire will offer its own blood as a means to escape that impending death. If they do accept the Blood Curse, the victim returns to life as a vampire at the next sunset.

That is the trick, the grift of the Vampires in BLACK MOON. Either lose yourself over the night and then die or consume the blood of a vampire and become one of them, forever transformed into a monster with an insatiable appetite for blood.

But what if there is a way to stop the Death Curse? ANYA has only rumors to go with but killing the vampire that bit her before sunrise could stop the Death Curse. Now all she has to do is find them in one of the largest cities in the world.

Set in the course of a single night, BLACK MOON is a tense, horror action film, filled with scares, suspense and the incredible action scenes that Deviant Children Productions is known for delivering. Filming to take place in NYC.

CHARACTERS
Slayers
Anya- Our lead in this film, Anya uses the cover of a bike courier/delivery worker to patrol the night time streets of New York in the search for vampires. Bitten at the beginning of the story. She must find the vampires responsible, preventing the deaths of others, and hopefully her own by sunrise. This attempt to save herself comes in direct conflict with the Tailor, the man who runs the underground slayer community.

X- Anya’s handler, weapons supplier and mentor, a former military veteran turned Santero who, along with his business partner/life partner Sasha, runs “La Lanza De Plata Botanica”, an esoteric religious goods business that is also a front for the acquisition of materials needed to slay vampires, such as silver. X finds himself caught between Anya’s youthful optimism that she can achieve her goal and The Tailor’s old school rigidity when dealing with the vampire threat.

The Tailor- In the vampire slayer organization, there is a leader overseeing it. The Tailor sits in that chair. An Afro-Latino immigrant, The Tailor has a network of workers sporadically placed across NYC that work for him in some capacity, employing them in a number of businesses that would be open all night, bars, laundromats, diners, etc… These are his eyes, ears, and sometimes his fists, in the fight against vampires across the city. The Tailor runs on a strict code- all vampires and those bitten by them must die.

Vampires
Father- The Alpha of the vampire trio that Anya must find and kill, Father comes to New York with his two “children” and begins their attack on anyone unfortunate enough to be out that night. Father is the oldest and possesses the ability to mesmerize his victims, a means by which he can enter the victims mind and break them down mentally as the Death Curse breaks them down physically.

Vor- The young male of the trio, a recent addition to the pack, Vor is possessed of an incredible amount of swagger and confidence, leaning into the fact that vampires are incredibly difficult to kill. Vor fancies himself as the “Beta” to Father’s “Alpha” and always seeks Father’s approval and will defy him to prove his worth.

Tith- The sole female, Tith is the powerhouse, the largest of the pack and a beast of a vampire, especially when on the hunt for fresh victims. Father doesn’t command Tith, he unleashes her.

THE FILMMAKER
Writer/Director Nicholas Ortiz -Born in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and raised in the Bronx, Nick is bringing his 15 years as a genre filmmaker, having directed several award winning action short films, this will be his SECOND feature film and his 30th professional project overall.

A WORD FROM NICHOLAS ORTIZ
"So much of this film is meant to address a few things. One, that making indie films in New York is impossible, it isn't. Two, to make vampires, the most ubiquitous of movie monsters, the things of nightmares again. And finally, harkening back to the type of film that would be made in the 80s and 90s, hand crafted thrills, practical stunts and FX, a tighter story runtime. In world where so much demands your attention, the least we can do is create an original film that's worth it.”

EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS ROBERT SAMUELS AND ROBERT JEFFERSON, R4 FILMS
Robert Samuels - Philadelphia native with 40s years of experience working in both the States and Hong Kong as a Stunt Designer, Director and Producer. Robert Jefferson - Alum of NYU's famed Tisch School of the Arts and longtime business partner and friend to Robert Samuels, Jefferson brings his own talents as a Director, Writer and Producer to BLACK MOON having an insight into story and production needs and working tirelessly behind the scenes to make the shoot happen.

ORLANDO CRUZ, ACTION DESIGNER AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Orlando Cruz , Action Designer- Hailing from Humacao, Puerto Rico, Orlando is bringing his over 30 years as a Martial Artist and nearly 20 as a Stunt Performer and Action Designer to the project, his most recent work can be seen in the upcoming RockStar Games release, Grand Theft Auto 6.

DISTRIBUTION/FESTIVAL RUN
The Producers, Deviant Children Productions and R4 Films have a business relationship with LatinoCircuitTV , a Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV platform dedicated to showcasing Latino Made Films and TV shows.

The split of ad based revenue though LatinoCircuitTV is 50/50 and will be made available to the public in North and South America.

The Producers are also aiming for additional streaming options such as Tubi, Amazon, Freevee, Roku Channel, etc…

A film like this is perfect on the horror film festival circuit, as well new programs such as the TUBI x BLACKLIST film initiative.

THE ENDGAME FOR BLACK MOON
Deviant Children Productions and R4 Films fully believe that there is an untapped market for Latino Produced films/tv shows. This linked article by the Hollywood Reporter summarizes that Hollywood’s disregard of content geared toward minority communities results in a FORFEIT of 30 billion dollars in profit every year.

In recent years, Hollywood’s efforts to address this racial inequity have been met with mixed results. That is because TRUE Representation is not as simple as race baiting or gender swapping established IPs, it is allowing Latino Artists to control and lead their own respective stories, to create films and tv shows that speaks specifically and authentically to those audiences.

We also seek to address the haphazard approach to budget and resource allocating on many Independent films, with the most egregious infractions being the lack of funds to crew pay and the brutal 16 hour, work days at 6 days a week. On OUR sets, no day is to exceed 10 hours, no shoot week will exceed 5 days, creating a safer, more efficient work environment. The health, well being and appreciation of our cast and crew is a large part of the mission statement at Deviant Children Productions.
