Bring Bishop Devnoor Home — Help Us Fight a Baseless Lawsuit

A father, husband, and community leader has been kept away from his family, his health, and his home. Help us bring him back.

My father, Bishop Pankaj Devnoor, has given much of his life to serving others. He spent years working alongside the sick in NHS hospitals, has served through his ministry in the Church of England, and for over a decade has built and led a church community here in Manchester.

He has always been the person our family, and so many others, could lean on. Someone who has given his time and faith to support his people when they needed it most.

Now, for the first time, he needs us.

My father travelled to India as an invited guest for a Christian gathering. What should have been a short visit became something none of us could ever have expected. He found himself facing a baseless accusation and caught up in a 'criminal' case simply for taking part in a religious gathering.

Since then, he has been unable to leave the country. He has been kept away from his wife, his children, his church community and the medical care he urgently needs here in Manchester. What was supposed to be a short time away has turned into weeks of fear and uncertainty for our whole family.

More than anything, we just want him home.

We are grateful that the courts have already begun to see what we have known all along — that this case has no real foundation. But unfortunately, being right isn’t enough. We still have to fight this properly, and that requires serious legal representation. The costs of doing that are more than our family can carry alone.

We are asking for your help to give my father the legal defence he deserves and to bring him back to the family and community who love him and desperately need him home.

For us as Christians, this goes beyond our own family. No one should have to live in fear for peacefully practising their faith. Today, we are asking the wider Christian community to stand with Bishop Pankaj through prayer, support and solidarity.
