Bring Becci Home
Donation protected
Our beautiful Becci is currently in hospital. Over the past few days, we’ve had some incredibly difficult conversations with her palliative care and specialist teams. Her condition has progressed, and we’re now focusing on giving her as much comfort, dignity, and love as possible, starting with getting her home!
There will be fundraisers to come, but for now every cent counts to be able to get our girl back home.
Becci lives with non-Cystic Fibrosis bronchiectasis, a chronic and progressive lung disease that causes the airways to become scarred, inflamed, and filled with thick mucus. It leads to infections, severe breathing difficulties, and exhaustion — and Becci has fought harder than most.
Her Medical Journey
Becci has survived more than most people could imagine:
1980 (6 months old) – Fundoplication surgery
1986 (age 6) – Left lung lobectomy
1996 (age 16) – Right lung lobectomy
2015 – Double lung transplant, followed by major complications
She spent 4 weeks in a coma on an ECMO machine to keep her alive. When she woke, she had to relearn how to breathe, move, talk, eat, read, write, and regain full control of her body — starting from scratch.
She has fought her way back time and time again. But now, her body is tired, and her medical team is helping us plan for palliative care at home — where she can be surrounded by comfort, calm, and the people who love her most.
What We’re Raising Funds For:
Oxygen Therapy
A home oxygen concentrator
A supply of portable oxygen bottles
Home Monitoring Equipment
Observation station: O2 sensor, heart rate, blood pressure, temp
Wearable oxygen/heart rate sensor with phone app and audible alarm
Respiratory Physiotherapy
A High-Frequency Chest Wall Oscillation (HFCWO) vest — a physiotherapy tool that helps clear mucus from her lungs, vital for her comfort and breathing
We are doing everything we can to bring Becci home with the care she deserves. These medical needs are urgent and mostly unfunded. Any donation — large or small — helps us take another step toward giving her peace, comfort, and dignity in this time.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and holding Becci in your heart.
With love!
