Vader is need of emergency surgery if it’s safe to operate, vet told me may have a week left.
Vader isn’t just my dog — he’s my shadow, my protector, and my best friend. Anyone who has ever met him knows one thing for sure: his tail never stops wagging. Whether he’s greeting strangers with pure excitement or playing with other dogs, Vader spreads joy everywhere he goes.
When I was recently hospitalized for 10 days, Vader never stopped looking for me. My family told me he would sit by the door and cry because I wasn’t home. That’s the kind of dog he is — loyal, loving, and always watching over me. My surgery was on June 16th it went well, I am on medical leave until August 22nd. Now the hardest part is seeing him fighting for his life.
But now, Vader is the one who needs saving.
He now has air trapped in his esophagus, and my vet says it’s a sign of something much more serious. Right now, he can’t eat on his own — I’ve been force-feeding him just to keep him alive. The vet warned me that without immediate answers and possible surgery, Vader may not make it past mid-September.
The next step is a CT scan ($2,500), which will show what’s happening inside his esophagus and determine if emergency surgery can save his life. With surgery and treatment the total costs that my veterinary told me are going to be: 10,000. We are waiting to an oncologist appointment asap, which is detrimental to save his life. We are hoping there are not major arteries that are part of the tumor.
Vader has been by my side through everything — my adventures, my recovery, and my hardest days. Now I’m asking for help to make sure he gets the chance to keep wagging his tail, spreading love, and living the happy life he deserves.
