My name is Lubos. As many of you may already know, my wife was diagnosed with a brain tumor before we met.

She has been sick since before I met her, we actually met at the hospital! She spends most of her days in bed in incredible pain, but she fights hard every day to still try to live a normal life and be the best mother and wife she can be.

For example, she hiked to the top of a mountain with a brain tumor, and I proposed so it was worth it :)

She tries to stay strong and i try to stay strong too watching her struggle, it is hard but we have fought harder.

We were relying on the public healthcare system originally but were unhappy with the level of care she received and didn't agree with their diagnosis (which turned out to be wrong) or their laid-back approach when suggesting to hold off on surgery to remove the tumor and just wait and watch.

We got private health insurance (which has been financially difficult as she is unable to work) and were referred to a private specialist where we enquired about a second opinion on her diagnosis.

This new private specialist is wonderful (Dr Rodriguez we love you!) And after 1 meeting and an updated cat scan, he gave us the most exciting news that he would be willing to do the surgery and do it as soon as we could finance it! Dr. Rodriguez suggested a surgery that he could perform, showed us and explained in detail the details that we should prepare for. The surgery itself is not very dangerous, but it is still an intervention in the head so we will be worried. My wife has a blockage that needs to be removed, we still don't know exactly what it is, but we believe that this blockage (the tumor, plus the surrounding fluid) is responsible for her daily migraines. Keep in mind that we have tried absolutely every oral and injectable medication. Since I met Ell, I have insisted that we try absolutely everything.

We were ecstatic and wanted to book it in asap but have found ourselves unable to, due to her incapability to work, our debts and no savings (even though I work 3 different jobs).

We were thinking of waiting until we could somehow save up the money but it would take us so long.

Ell has no quality of life, she is always in pain, has nausea, dizziness, shakiness almost every day and has even passed out in the middle of the street once. I don't want to wait any longer.

I will swallow my pride to make sure the woman i love will be safe and healthy and get her life back. I am asking for help even though I feel uncomfortable in doing so because this is so important to not only her, but to her whole family.

She can't be the kind of mother she wants to be for her brave son Xander, she can never go out places for too long and is too scared to go too far on her own in case she has a flare up..she has no freedom to live how she wants to live.

She gave up on her passions which was tattooing, drawing, painting, etc because the time without pain got shorter and shorter and her migraines can affect her vision and steadiness.

She doesn't see her friends that much anymore because she is too scared to make plans only to cancel them, it is everyone close to her that has felt the toll her health has taken, and we all want her to be healthy and back to her normal bubbly self.

It is exhausting seeing the person you love in pain and not being able to fix it, to be constantly worried about leaving her and constantly anxious about not only her day-to-day state but also about results and appointments and medications scripts to fill etc.

It would mean the world to not only Ell, but also myself, her son, her family & friends if we could all come together and support her. I created this gofundme for anyone willing to donate anything towards her surgery, whatever you can spare would be so much appreciated as our insurance can only cover so much.

Any help at all would make a difference, to just have the financial side of things sorted out would be a huge weight off our shoulders as we still have the dangers of the surgery and how we will navigate through her recovery, etc on our minds too.

She is strong and will make it through this surgery I know, but I want her to know she is not alone and has a lot of support from people who love her.
