Bring! Back! The! Pies!

Winnipegs local Queer, Anti-racist, De-colonial Sourdough Bakery EADHA BREAD is looking for some loving.

Small business is unpredictable ALWAYS and the pandemic only makes that more and more true, but "Eadha" means Endurance and we're doing our best to stay agile and THRIVE.

In March of this year, like many other bakeries and businesses in Winnipeg and around the world - we shifted our sales from in person to online. In order for this to be a smooth transition, we reduced our menu, and in doing so have realized how much of our LABOUR was going into TWO of our beloved products:

Sourdough HandPies & Sourdough Cookies 

We want to bring them back - but to keep it real - we need some additional equipment to make it really worth our while.

We are looking to purchase:

1. A Second Mixer (Planetary)
2. A Second Oven (Convection)
3. A Dough Sheeter (Roller)

All of our current equipment is geared toward bread making and baking, so the above equipment will seal the deal on our pastry game, allowing us to produce more of your favourites, and expand (think: sourdough croissant).

TO BE CLEAR: This will not mean less shifts for staff; this will mean less physical labour on their bodies AND the opportunity to create new recipes (everyone is very excited)

In addition to this online fundraiser, we are running a few other, more tangible  ones:

1. A limited edition Eadha Staff Calendar for 2021
2. A special run of Eadha T-Shirts (long sleeve and youth sizes included)
3. A covid-safe Pizza Party

All funds raised will be reinvested back into our community, directly and indirectly with a business model that prioritizes long term jobs with health benefits for 2slgbttqia* and BIPOC, fundraising for grassroots projects, facilitating a pre-paid food system for anyone who wants to eat our food but doesn’t have the cash for it, purchasing ingredients from local suppliers, being accountable to YOU, and calling bullshit when we see it.
