My brother, Gary, died unexpectedly on Saturday morning. He was out mowing the lawn. Chatting one minute, gone the next.
Gary was such an inspiration. He loved us like he was our dad. Always imparting wisdom, whether you wanted to hear it or not, lol. He turned his life around and showed us that anything is possible.
As a youngster, he first became addicted to weed then to crack. He was an alcoholic. He was in and out of prison. Until he decided that there has to be a better way to live. That he could face his demons and win. And he did.
He was a great brother and father. He rediscovered his creativity and was designing and building charcoal grills. He was writing and currently, his first book is being edited. He was the absolute best. He loved all 7 of his sisters and all 7 of his brothers and he made sure we knew that. He loved his kids. He was, without a doubt, the best of us.
I will miss him always.
We are having a wake and funeral service followed by cremation.
