I’m Thomas Cage, an Atlanta radio veteran with more than 25 years behind the microphone, having done everything from being a rock jock to anchoring news for a statewide radio network. Years ago, I created Swing Shift Radio as a way to bring together the music, personalities, and style of radio I’ve always loved. Now I’m ready to bring Swing Shift Radio back to the air—and build it into something much bigger. I’m asking for your help making that happen. Swing Shift Radio — The Future of Retro Radio will be a 24/7 internet radio station blending Swing, Big Band, Jump Blues, and Lounge with modern retro-style music, Old Time Radio, Film Noir, and even early science-fiction storytelling.

At a time when a new generation is rediscovering classic vinyl, handmade goods, old-fashioned skills, and the value of slowing down, I believe radio is ready for the same revival. Swing Shift Radio won’t be about pretending it’s 1945 all over again, and it won’t be another playlist without personality or direction. It will be carefully curated radio that carries forward what made entertainment of the 1940s and ’50s so compelling while bringing that spirit into the present: real DJs and presenters, community, great stories, and music with meaning. I want it to feel like radio again—not simply something playing in the background, but a place where listeners can discover music, hear a human voice, request a song, share a story, and feel like they’re part of something.
