For nearly eight decades, the Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival has brought the community together to celebrate the Town of Rio Vista. The Saturday evening fireworks display is one of its most cherished traditions, and this fundraiser is to help support that show at the 79th Annual Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival in 2027.

Over the past three years, escalating costs and rising insurance expenses have created substantial financial hurdles. In 2026, the fireworks show was canceled because of lack of funding and rising insurance costs, and the community was disappointed when it was not held. For years, the show has been made possible through sponsorships from businesses and individuals, and this fundraiser is part of the effort to bring that tradition back.

Funds raised will go toward the fireworks show and insurance, including the remaining production and safety expenses. The Dutra Group continues its dedicated support by providing the fireworks barge to the event at no charge, but community contributions are essential to help make the show possible. Bringing the fireworks back would not only restore an important festival tradition, but also help draw community members to eat and drink at local business establishments during the festival.

The Rio Vista Chamber of Commerce and the Derby committee remain deeply committed to keeping this spectacle alive. Every dollar contributed goes directly toward preserving the show. If the full amount is not raised in time for the festival, all donations will remain reserved until sufficient funds are secured to light up the Rio Vista sky once again.
