Bring Back Meryl's Smile: Dental Assistance Needed
Donation protected
My name is Meryl and I do a lot of GoFundMe's for my cats and their veterinary needs and health. Today, I'm doing a GoFundMe for me. This is a photo of me with the Cat in the Hat at a fundraiser last year for my non-profit. I don't smile too much anymore. I've had a lot of dental work throughout my years of growing up, from braces to bone grafts to porcelain overlays. A couple of years ago, I fell and knocked out three of my front teeth. Most of my front teeth are porcelain overlays, and if you've ever had them, you'll know that they're like cat teeth, and then they put a crown over them. I have a lot of bone loss; it's inherited. I have osteoporosis too, but I'm careful and I take AlgaeCal. I have great dental insurance through Physicians Mutual. I've had it for years, and I'm so glad I do. They are willing to pay the majority of the bill.
I'm going to do a mix of denture and a few implants with a bridge. My top teeth are the worst. My teeth are affecting my health, and I usually don't come out and talk about my personal life. I'm usually about the cats and their health, but in order to get my dental program started, I need some help. When my husband and my father were alive, I never had any monetary issues, but because I'm on my own now, it's been a little difficult. My brother died, and I have one sister, and her income is tight.
I need $1,100. It's not for a deductible because Physicians Mutual doesn't require a deductible. It's basically for the office visit and a few miscellaneous items that are not covered. I want to get my teeth done during the holidays, and to do that, all I have to do is pay this down and then I can start the process. It'll be in stages, and I'm a bit of a chicken, so as they say, it's a process, not an event. If you'd be so kind as to donate to my GoFundMe, I understand things are tight for everybody, and I don't want to seem like a beggar. I just didn't know who else to turn to, and I thought my friends would help if they could. A few people know about my dental issues, but I haven't told everybody just because I always had such good dental care when I lived at home and had the income. I thank you for your consideration.
