For 35 years, I’ve devoted my life to Japanese cuisine — to craft, to community, and to the belief that sushi is more than food. It’s connection, hospitality, and tradition shared one bite at a time.
For over a decade, Lou’s Sushi was a beloved part of Midtown Sacramento. We rolled hand-crafted sushi, poured cocktails with intention, and filled the room with laughter, memories, and a neighborhood spirit that only Sacramento can create.
Eight years ago, circumstances took us off the map. But the support and love from this community never faded — not once. Over the years, people stopped me in grocery stores and farmers markets, messaged on social media, and shared stories about birthdays, first dates, celebrations, and quiet nights at Lou’s.
You told us you missed us.
Now, we’re coming home.
The new Lou’s will honor the original spirit — intimate, authentic, and chef-driven — while growing into something fresh: a lively hand-roll bar and Japanese small-plate restaurant with a hip cocktail lounge centerpiece. Think Tokyo alley soul meets Midtown energy.
We’re almost there — space secured, design underway, vision alive.
We just need one more burst of support to cross the finish line.

Closing Message
Sacramento gave Lou’s a home — and we want to give that home back to you.
Thank you for believing in hand-crafted food, in family-style hospitality, and in the magic that happens when a neighborhood comes together to break bread (and share sushi).
From the bottom of my heart —
Thank you for helping us reopen Lou’s.
We can’t wait to welcome you back.
