Bring Back Homeboy BBQ: Community Support Needed

Homeboy BBQ Go Fund Me
The hope is to collect $50,000 to Get Going.
A tragedy occurred late in the evening of Tuesday May 6, 2025. A person who was arrested by the police is suspected of vandalizing and setting Homeboys on Fire. This fire destroyed the building and much of the contents to the point that it will have to be rebuilt. Because of the quotes that were supplied by the insurance co at the time of Homeboy’s (Larry) Death on February 3, 2022, to his wife to insure her as a widow, the cost was not doable. So, there is no insurance to help rebuild. At that point the decision was made to keep the business going. In time Marina hoped to pass the legacy on to a new owner, so it was placed “For Sale”. At this point that is not an option.
We are reaching out to the Customers and Community for help in making this rebuild a reality. The new Homeboy BBQ will be smaller and remain a Takeout Only Business.
Many people know Homeboy BBQ, but some do not.
This Business started as a Nation-Wide Rib Competition and remained that way for around 23 years. The taste was so good that it always put them in the top 3. So good that Regis and Kathy Lee Featured Homeboy on their show.
Homeboy became a Brick-and-Mortar Business in 2004 after Homeboy met Homegirl in a Competition in Canada. In time Marina became a U S Citizen and celebrated it with Purchasing a copy of the “Liberty Bell” that had been at the International Institute and was purchased by another family when the Institute closed and later sold to her. This bell has been proudly displayed at the restaurant. After she informed the Fireman of the bell and its significance they made it an objective to save it.
The present plan is to start with Clean up and Clean Out. We are asking anyone who is willing to come to help fill in 1 or 2 Rolloff Boxes, to show up on the days that will be coming soon. Whether it is to help sweep, shovel or lift items to the trash. Dates Coming.
Next, we need volunteers that are willing to help rebuild. The hope is to raise money to pay for materials and workers to do the job. The more people who are willing to give of their time and expertise the better our chances of rebuilding soon and at a lower cost.
Marina has been an awesome contribution to our community. Both through her food and her spirit. I have heard so many stories of her selfless giving and attitude since this has happened, now it is our turn to help bring her livelihood back into existence. All money collected goes to rebuild and support her and rebuild her business.
We need your help, so please consider donating time or money.
