Our family is heartbroken after the sudden loss of Arthur, the loving father of Marley and Lola. Arthur’s health journey over the past two years has been incredibly hard and filled with moments of hope, fear, and strength.
In late November 2023, Arthur went into sudden acute liver failure with no known cause. On the 1st of December, he received an emergency liver transplant that saved his life. Against all odds, he made it home in time for Marley’s 4th birthday on the 22nd of December.
He spent 2024 doing everything he could to recover, but he remained very unwell and unable to work. Shanoa was caring for their two little girls (now 3 and almost 6), trying her best to keep life stable for them while supporting Arthur through a long and difficult recovery.
In early 2025, Arthur became critically unwell again due to severe global rejection of his transplanted liver. After being urgently airlifted from Canberra Hospital to RPA in Sydney on the 18th of November, he passed away peacefully in ICU the following evening, surrounded by family.
Arthur was deeply proud of his Fijian heritage, and his wish was to be cremated and have his ashes returned to his hometown of Levuka, Fiji, by Shanoa and his daughters. He wanted them to be the ones to take him home, honour his culture, and say their goodbyes where his Nana June — who lovingly raised him — is laid to rest.
This fundraiser will help cover:
• Cremation and basic funeral costs
• Urn and required documentation
• Fees for safely transporting his ashes
• Travel for his daughters to take him home to Levuka
• Any cultural or practical needs along the way
Shanoa has been caring for the girls while working casually, and Arthur was unable to work after his liver transplant due to ongoing illness. This has left no savings or insurance to cover funeral or repatriation costs. Any support will go directly toward giving Arthur a simple, dignified farewell and helping his daughters take him home to Fiji, as he wished.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page or sending your love and support means the world to our family.
Thank you for helping us honour Arthur’s final wish and supporting his girls through this heartbreaking time ❤️
