On Sept 27 in Montreal, our dear friend Andrea Rovere passed away tragically as the result of a hit-and-run collision while cycling. We still cannot believe what happened. He was the kindest and generous guy any of us knew, always ready to help others. Andrea was very active in the local community, engaged in several social causes, and was an avid multi-instrumentalist. He moved to Montreal a few years ago and earned his Ph.D. in Physics at INRS last December.
Andrea was studying far from his home country, Italy. His family had not seen him for some years. And they deserve to see him again. Unfortunately, the costs associated with transporting his body and laying him to rest are considerable.
We hope you will help us in raising funds to bring Andrea home to Italy.

Thanks again to everyone who donated and joined our cause, we couldn’t have pulled this off without you. We passed our initial goal by far, and we wanted to update you on the campaign. We will stop accepting donations Monday the 4th of October at noon. As mentioned earlier, the extra funds will also be used to arrange Andrea's memorial services and burial in Italy. Additionally, if there will be any leftover funds, they will go to Andrea's family.

Thanks again to everyone who donated and joined our cause, we couldn’t have pulled this off without you. We passed our initial goal by far, and we wanted to update you on the campaign. Le 27 septembre, à Montréal, notre cher ami Andrea Rovere s’est éteint tragiquement suite à une collusion mortelle avec un camion alors qu’il pédalait en ville. Le chauffeur a ensuite commis un délit de fuite. Nous avons encore du mal à prendre la mesure de cet événement. Andrea était l’une des personnes les plus gentilles et généreuses que nous connaissions, toujours prêt à venir en aide aux autres. Il était très actif dans la communauté locale. Impliqué dans de nombreuses causes sociales, il jouait également de multiples instruments. Il avait emménagé à Montréal il y a quelques années, et y avait obtenu son doctorat en Physique en décembre dernier.
Andrea étudiait loin de son pays natal, l’Italie. Sa famille ne l’avait pas vu depuis des années, et ils méritent de le voir une dernière fois. Malheureusement, les coûts associés au transport du corps et à l’organisation des funérailles sont considérables.
Nous espérons que vous pourrez nous aider à lever des fonds pour ramener Andrea chez lui, en Italie.

Nous avons dépassé notre objectif initial et nous souhaitons vous tenir au courant de la suite des opérations. Nous allons fermer les donations le lundi 4 octobre à midi. Il 27 Settembre, a Montreal, il nostro caro amico Andrea Rovere è mancato dopo essere stato travolto da un pirata della strada mentre andava in bici. Non possiamo ancora crederci. Era una persona estremamente generosa ed buona, sempre disponibile ad aiutare il prossimo. Andrea contribuiva attivamente nelle comunità di cui faceva parte, facendosi portatore di molte cause sociali. Era anche una persona molto creativa, ed un grande appassionato di musica. Si era trasferito a Montreal qualche anno fa per il dottorato in Fisica, che ha conseguito all'INRS lo scorso Dicembre.
Andrea studiava distante dall'Italia e da tempo non vedeva la sua famiglia, specialmente nell'ultimo periodo di pandemia. Crediamo che la sua famiglia abbia il diritto di averlo con sé per commemorarlo. Sfortunatamente, il costo per il rimpatrio della sua salma e per le cerimonie funebri è molto alto.
Speriamo ci possiate aiutare nel raccogliere fondi per portare Andrea a casa.

Non accetteremo più donazioni a partire dal 4 Ottobre a mezzogiorno (ovvero le 18 ora Italiana). Come abbiamo precedentemente scritto, tutti i fondi addizionali saranno utilizzati per organizzare il funerale e la sepoltura di Andrea in Italia. Inoltre, qualsiasi fondo che non sarà spero per il trasporto e il funerale sarà direttamente trasferito alla famiglia di Andrea.

El 27 de septiembre en Montreal, nuestro querido amigo Andrea Rovere falleció trágicamente mientras cicleaba cuando un conductor lo atropelló y se dio a la fuga. Aún no podemos creer lo que pasó. Era el chico más amable y generoso que cualquiera de nosotrxs ha conocido, siempre listo para ayudar al resto. Andrea era muy activo en la comunidad local, involucado en varias causas sociales, y un apasionado músico multi-instrumental. Se mudó a Montreal hace algunos años y obtuvo tu Ph.D. en Física en el INRS el diciembre pasado.
Andrea estaba estudiando lejos de su país de origen, Italia. Su familia no lo había visto en algunos años. Y merecen verlo de nuevo. Desafortunadamente, los costos asociados al transporte del cuerpo para que descanse en paz son considerables.
Esperamos que nos puedan ayudar a recaudar fondos para llevar a Andrea a casa, en Italia.
