Bringing Andra Home
Don Adams, well known friend, neighbour and local radio personality, needs our help to bring his daughter home. Tragically, Andra passed away on Saturday, September 19th in Seattle, Washington, far from her Halifax family.
Don and Andee's memorable bardic offerings at community gatherings grounded us in a time before these difficult days. Light heartedly, they gently teased each other about the value of enthusiasm over talent through their mutual bond of music and love of performing. Andee is remembered as beautiful and resilient and a friend to so many here in Halifax and beyond.
To compound the pain of this grief, the family must arrange to return Andra's remains across the American – Canadian border and from the Western to the Eastern coast. Such a voyage involves many bureaucratic issues and significant expenses to shepherd her home.
Don has been a staunch supporter of the Haligonian and Pagan faith communities. It is at Don's annual, open Samhain event, held on The Commons since 1997 that many of us were first introduced to this community and it is through his Earth & Sky radio show that we have maintained our community connection during these difficult times. Please join us in showing our support and shared grief for the loss of a daughter, a sister, friend and a member of the East coast community by standing by Don. Let's return his faith in us with a donation to help bring Andra home, and to rest.
