Bring American Football to Mongolia

Hi, my name is Ian Stearns and for the last 3 years I have been doing Sports Missions here in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

My most recent project God assigned to me is an American Tackle Football Program I put together last year called Cross Sports Football in partnership with my church back in the USA. It is Mongolia’s first tackle football program.

We had an amazing first season and we are looking forward to getting started with season number two!

Unfortunately, this year we will not have backed funding by any organization so I must do the best I can to raise this season’s funds on my own.

We are shooting to raise $10,000 by March 13th 2022 (my 31st birthday ). Our official season starts in April and we need to have our jerseys and equipment order by April 1st.

With the funds we will buy higher quality jerseys suitable for real American Football shoulder pads and game pants suitable for girdles. That way when we get full equipment in by Season 3 (our ultimate goal) we will be ready to reuse the uniforms then. The uniforms alone will cost us $5,000 for 40 players.

(These are the designs and quality of uniforms we are aiming for so they will last us for more than one season)

Also we will buy necessary equipment like tackle bags, agility ladders, cones, referee gear, coaches gear, other in game gear etc. We will also cover the weekly expenses for renting our practice and game fields.

Our program is not just any program though. With my three years of Life Coaching experience and 6 years of Missionary work for the Kingdom of God, I have combined the world of personal development and sports into what is now called Kingdom Sports.

Kingdom Sports is all about coaching the coaches and athletes holistically. We are creating a coaching model that develops every individuals Mind (Psychological), Body (Physical) and Spirit (Purposeful) we call it Composed Athletics. We know that sports are more than just a game and they can all teach us very valuable life lessons if we allow them to. These lessons are what will help us become great leaders for our family, friends and community even after we retire from the game.

Last year we had 10 coaches and 4 referees step up and volunteer their time to teach the beautiful game of football, even some with zero experience of playing. They took the leap because of their personal love for the game and all the value life principles it teaches. This year I would like to reward our coaches and refs and sow into their lives some more for all their efforts, time and energy.

We all just want to see the culture of American football develop here in Mongolia and what better way to pioneer a sport in a country is their than to pioneer it The Kingdom Way.
